MVT Solutions CertifiedTM testing found the EkoStinger saved 4.20 gal/1000 miles (3.85%). Separately, the EkoStinger undercarriage saved 1.95 gal/1000 miles (1.79%). An interesting feature of the EkoStinger is how it slides with the bogey, as opposed to trailer skirts where the gap between its panels and trailer tires change with bogey position. Check back to see test results on how this effects fuel economy.
Overall, the EkoStinger proved to be a definite fuel saving device and a great alternative to trailer skirts. This is a product worth consideration for any carrier. Also, for any carrier that has concerns with trailer skirts such as ground contact or the effect of crosswinds on the trailer, the EkoStinger has even more potential to be the right solution.
