MVT Solutions Certified™ testing showed the Aerovolution Booster-Tail saved 5.04 gal/1000 miles (4.18%) on a 53-ft dry van trailer. Based on 125,000 miles travelled annually, savings equate to 630 gallons per year. At $3.287 per gallon (2021 average retail price of diesel) this equates to $2,071 in fuel savings per year.
The Booster-Tail is designed to deploy and retract automatically with the forces of air flow at the rear of the trailer, which occur due to vehicle speed. While parked, and at low speeds, the Booster-Tail rests in a retracted position folded against the trailer doors. As the trailer approaches highway speed, the Booster-Tail automatically unfolds and deploys.
