MVT Solutions CertifiedTM BG 2-Part Heavy Duty Engine & Fuel System Performance Restoration included adding
liquid treatment to the fuel tanks and engine oil immediately preceding a regularly scheduled engine oil change. This
included two products: Heavy Duty Fuel System Performance Restoration (Diesel Fuel System Cleaner) and Engine
Performance Restoration. After adding the required amounts to the fuel tanks and engine oil, a stationary regeneration
was performed, followed by the regularly scheduled engine oil change. During a 1000-mile track test at 65 mph, a
Freightliner Cascadia with Detroit Diesel 15-Liter engine showed an improvement of 1.31% with the BG 2-Part Heavy
Duty Engine & Fuel System Performance Restoration. An International LT with Cummins X15 15-Liter engine showed
an improvement of 2.11%. These results were determined from the final 200 miles of the test. The Detroit Diesel saw steady
improvement throughout the 1000-miles, apart from an initial loss in the first 200 miles. The Cummins engine saw an
immediate improvement of 1.08% in the first 200 miles, then remained relatively steady until approximately 600 miles,
at which point it steadily improved through the remainder of the test. Fuel injectors were removed before and after the test
to analyze the spray holes using a 200x digital microscope. Visual improvements were found on both engines’ spray holes in
the form of less blockage. Both trucks were 2017 model year with approximately 300,000 miles.
Results for Any Carrier
Carriers can trust the test results are reliable for other tractor-trailer configurations, they are not specific to MVT’s fleet. During testing, vehicles were configured to represent the current industry-standard and did not include wheel covers or tractor wheel side fairings.
